Due to periodontal diseases, the bone that supports the teeth can decrease, causing tooth mobility and consequently the loss of the tooth.

Guided tissue regeneration consists of the surgical application of a biocompatible membrane to isolate and protect the bone defect and filling biomaterials to regenerate the tooth support structures.
